What does the Sunnah say about black seed?
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said in Sahih al-Bukhari 5688: 'In black seed (al-habba al-sawda') there is a cure for every disease except as-sam (death).' The statement is universal in form but understood by scholars as comprehensive in scope - meaning that black seed is one of the most broadly beneficial natural medicines, not that it cures literally every condition by itself. The general principle of Sahih al-Bukhari 5678, that Allah has not sent down any disease without sending down its treatment, sets the framework: black seed is one of those treatments.
And honey?
Honey is described in the Qur'an as a substance 'in which there is healing for people' (Surah An-Nahl 16:69). The Prophet, peace be upon him, recommended honey for stomach ailments specifically and recommended it generally as a treatment alongside Qur'anic recitation. Honey is also used as a medium for recitation - recite over a spoon of honey before taking it. Combine modern medicine with these natural means; do not replace one with the other.
How should I use zamzam water?
The Prophet, peace be upon him, described zamzam in Sunan Ibn Majah 3062 (hasan) as being 'for whatever it is drunk for' - the intention you carry when drinking is the intention Allah responds to. Drink it standing or sitting; say bismillah; intend healing, guidance, success in a specific affair. There is no need for elaborate liturgy. Zamzam is also a permitted medium for recitation; recite Surah Al-Fatihah or the Mu'awwidhat over it before drinking and the act becomes both Sunnah hydration and personal ruqyah.
?Are commercial 'sunnah supplements' actually Sunnah?
Plain black seed oil, honey, and olive oil from reputable sources are Sunnah-aligned. Branded blends mixing dozens of ingredients with marketing claims of curing 'sihr, ayn, and depression' are not. Buy the simple substance; treat the marketing copy with healthy skepticism.
?Is there a specific supplication to say before drinking zamzam?
Say bismillah, drink, and make your specific du'a in your own words. The Prophet, peace be upon him, did not prescribe a fixed text beyond bismillah; the latitude is yours. Be specific in what you ask, since 'whatever it is drunk for' implies your articulated intention.
