Can I perform recitation on myself while menstruating?
Yes. Du'a and recitation of adhkar are not restricted during menstruation - including the Mu'awwidhat (Sahih al-Bukhari 5017), the Bismillah-illadhi formula morning and evening (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088), Ayat al-Kursi (recited from memory), and Sayyid al-Istighfar (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306). The scholarly difference concerns recitation of Qur'an specifically with the intention of tilawah while one is junub or in haid, and even there many scholars permit recitation of short surahs and verses for the purpose of ruqyah or protection. Continue your daily prophetic adhkar without interruption.
Is there a specific recitation I should perform during pregnancy?
There is no Sunnah-specific 'pregnancy ruqyah' separate from the general prophetic protocol, but pregnancy is when the daily adhkar matter most. The Prophet, peace be upon him, sought refuge for Hasan and Husain in their infancy using the same words his father Ibrahim used (Sahih al-Bukhari 3371) - some scholars suggest this applies during pregnancy too. Recite the Mu'awwidhat three times morning and evening (Sunan Abi Dawud 5082), Ayat al-Kursi after each fard salah and before sleep, and place your hand on the womb when reciting Bismillah to formally include the child. Continue prenatal medical care; ruqyah is a parallel protection, not an alternative.
I have suffered a miscarriage. How do I find spiritual peace?
May Allah grant you patience and reward. The Sunnah teaches that miscarried children intercede for their mothers on the Day of Judgement, by the mercy of Allah. Allah said: 'Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity' (Qur'an 2:285-286) - this grief is grief, but it is not punishment, and you are not being singled out. Recite Sayyid al-Istighfar (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306) for yourself, ask Allah for the child to be a means of intercession, and continue your daily adhkar. Seek medical follow-up. Allah's mercy is the larger frame; the grief sits inside it, not outside it.
?Can my husband recite over me when I am menstruating?
Yes. Menstruation does not bar another person from reciting ruqyah over you. The Prophet, peace be upon him, would place his right hand on his wives' pain and recite the healing du'a (Sahih al-Bukhari 5743), and Jibril recited the prophetic ruqyah over him (Sahih Muslim 2186), without the menstrual state being treated as a barrier in the texts. A spouse, parent, or trustworthy raqi can recite over you in any state.
?Are there verses or surahs I should avoid in pregnancy?
No. The entire Qur'an is rahmah; no verse harms a believing pregnant woman. The custom in some cultures of avoiding specific surahs during pregnancy has no Sunnah basis. Recite freely: Surah Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, the Mu'awwidhat, Surah Yasin, and any other surah that brings you closer to Allah. Avoid only spell-formulas or unsound 'fertility verses' that the Sunnah did not establish.
